Test Setup

We tested these APUs with the Gigabyte AB350N-Gaming Wi-Fi along with 16GB (2 x 8GB) of G.Skill FlareX 3,200MHz DDR4 memory, both of which were supplied by AMD. Comparison Intel figures were obtained using the Asus ROG Strix Z370-F along with 16GB (2 x 8GB) of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3,200MHz DDR4 memory. All stock speed tests on both platforms were carried out with default BIOS settings, other than memory speed which was set to 2,933MHz. This is the highest officially supported speed of the AMD APUs. It is higher than the officially supported speeds on the Intel chips, but it levels the playing field and in our experience Intel's LGA 1151 platform never has an issue running memory at this speed.
